22,860 hits and climbing!!!!! The Beanery Writers Group blog celebrated reaching its 20,000th hit April 1---and was NOT a joke.
The celebration included changing our identity from the Beanery Writers Group blog to THE BEANERY ONLINE LITERARY MAGAZINE.
The access route--- www.ProBlogs.com/beanerywriters ---remains the same.
I believe the Beanery Online Literary Magazine deserves recognition as BLOG OF THE DAY because it demonstrates how a group of blog-illiterate writers can steadily raise the number of hits on their site.
When The Beanery Online Literary Magazine was initiated in late August, 2006, there was slow progress in attracting readers. This was due to the fact that no one in the group understood how to set up and manipulate a blog.
By December site hits averaged 62 per day. In January they went up to 96.6, in February it rose to 135.5, and March ended with 174.3 hits per day. By April 10th the site had five days that averaged 300+ hits.
We’ve now set our new goal---400 hits a day, a real stretch!
This slow, steady progress is due to the site’s quality writing in multiple genres, persistence in daily posting, addition of an index and amateur exploration in increasing blog traffic.
The site is open to local and long-distance members who are unable to attend meetings. It also invites children and visitors to contribute their best writing. Both actions help increase the number of hits as well as encouraging writers as far away as Arkansas.
Although the Beanery Writers Group relies on the ProBlog site template for its design their site is attractive.
The site’s success proves that even amateur, computer-illiterate persons can learn to navigate the Internet using simple, free tools. That’s why I nominate the Beanery Online Literary Magazine for BLOG OF THE DAY.
I'd like to nominate the blog "The Pea Throwing Incident
...And Other Letters Home From The Principal's Office"
Its a fun blog that is just getting started. It was featured in USA Today's pop culture blog "Pop Candy" and definitly deserves a look.
the url is http://peathrowingincident.blogspot.com/

http://qoaa.blogspot.com
I nominate www.anitokid.blogspot.com. very nice blog and very well organized. keep up the good work
I'd like to nominate www.BostonsportZ.com --It is a fun and entertaining site covering the buzz on Boston sports, entertainment and more...
I would like to nominate "The Digital Edge" for Blog Of The Day.
http://www.thedigitaledgeblog.com
The Digital Edge looks at ways digital technologies transform our lives. It tries to approach technical subjects in a way that makes them accessible to a non-technical audience.
It has recently launched a new video series on the site called "Practical RSS" - highlighting both the tools and techniques people can use to maximize their use of available feeds on the web.
The Digital Edge is a single person endeavor, motivated by a desire to explore and share the ways technology impacts us all.
I appreciate your consideration of this site for Blog Of The Day...
