Today's Blog of the Day Award goes to Matt Impett - Matt Impett for Matt's Blog and Updates on Matt and his cord blood experience. Matt is fighting cancer and the basic idea is that he is getting a two unit umbilical cord blood stem cell transplant.

Matthew Impett
Matthew Scott "Matt" Impett, 30, a resident of Annapolis for three years and formerly of New York City, died of leukemia Feb. 6 in his home after a 2 1/2-year illness.
Mr. Impett was born Aug. 17, 1977, in Baltimore to Rick and Sylvia Impett of Annapolis. He graduated from the University of Maryland in 1999 with a bachelor's degree in computer science.
He worked as a systems administrator with Community IT Innovators, beginning in April of 2005. He previously worked as a member of technical staff at Flarion Technologies and as a faculty research assistant at the University of Maryland
He was known for being good at everything he tried. He confronted his illness head-on, growing himself and sharing his challenges and successes with those around him, inspiring them to find greater meaning in their lives.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Paul "Opa" and Frances Gregory and Ray and Colette Impett.
Survivors include his wife, whom he married in November of 2007, Ellen Kittredge; and one sister, Emily Impett of San Francisco.
